MasterChef Australia-Season 8-Episode43-0

Just a day ahead of the return of Offspring, TEN has a spring in its step.

Last night it was the leading primary channel, with MasterChef hitting its best numbers all year, at 1.13m viewers. It trounced Seven and Nine offerings, both of which were under 700k. NCIS  also led its timeslot. That leaves tonight as a very interesting battle as Offspring joins the fray….

Aside from Home and Away neither Seven nor Nine could manage an entertainment title above 700,000 last night. The Force managed 691,000 while both 20 to One and Britain’s Got Talent were down on last week.

But multichannels still helped Seven network win the night with 28.4% then Nine 25.1%, TEN 24.8%, ABC 15.3% and SBS 6.3%.

Seven News drew 1.11m / 1.09m for Seven then Home and Away (780,000), The Force (691,000 / 657,000), The Chase (678,000 / 416,000) and In Cold Blood: The Chris Lane Story (507,000).

Nine News 1.02m / 1.00m was best for Nine then A Current Affair (888,000), 20 to One (683,000), Britain’s Got Talent (593,000) and Hot Seat (541,000). 2 Broke Girls drew 270,000 / 150,000.

MasterChef was #1 for TEN with 1.13m viewers. The Project was 715,000 / 492,000, NCIS was 670,000, TEN Eyewitness News was 530,000 and NCIS: LA was 483,000 / 262,000.

ABC News (751,000), 7:30 (605,000), Catalyst (475,000), David Attenborough’s Life That Glows (428,000), Foreign Correspondent (290,000) and Antiques Roadshow (285,000) comprised ABC’s night.

On SBS it was Great Continental Railway Journeys (343,000), Insight (230,000), SBS World News (179,000) and Dateline (122,000).

Shaun the Sheep remained best on multichannels with a round 300,000.

Today Extra: 169,000 / 108,000
The Morning Show: 150,000 / 111,000
Studio 10: 75,000 / 45,000
